In addition to her consultancy, Romina dedicates time to two not-for-profit events.
Romina is a co-founder of Film North.This year’s fourth annual festival will begin on Thursday September 19th, 2013 and take place at the Algonquin Theatre on Huntsville Ontario.The festival runs for three days. Film North is Muskoka’s first and only international film festival. It represents a rare, annual opportunity for the festival goer to experience a program of carefully selected Canadian and international films.
Film North’s third annual festival delighted audience members and filmmakers alike. With 39 films over three days, the festival has been praised for its intimate and relaxed setting in which viewers were able to enjoy films alongside the many directors, producers and actors in attendance.
Romina is the Founder and Creative Director of Get Lit – a compelling evening of literature and inspiration lead by a unique cast of notable Canadians. Each reader shares and discusses a piece of writing that has inspired them to achieve their own success. Last year’s 5th bi-annual event was held on May 12th at the Appel Salon in the Toronto Reference Library. The 2013 date will be set shortly.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations go to The Running and Reading Club, a life-changing after-school program offered to children living at or below the poverty line in Canada. This high impact program effectively addresses the need for enhanced literacy and physical activity among the hundreds of children it serves. By helping to improve academic achievement, physical fitness and social interaction among participants, the Club equips each child to reach their full potential.
